Several settlements are located in this valley, as water can always be obtained bysinking wells to a moderate depth. Crossing this valley the boundary line passes through a gap near the southeastern extremityof the Mule Mountains, thence along the north slope of the valley lying between the MuleMountains and the Sierra San Jose until the valley of the San Pedro River is reached.
