People praying & making offerings of marigold garlands & traditional Thai silk dresses to native female spirits at cave shrine in Wat Khao Tham Hill
Sited in Suphanburi province, the 84m tall Phra Phutthapusayakhiri Sri Suvarnabhumi or Luang Pho U-Thong is the largest cliff-carved Buddha sculpture in Thailand and ASEAN, and one of the largest Buddhist statues in the country. The statue was initiated in 2014 and carved into the mountain cliff of a former abandoned quarry at Khao Tham Thiam hill. U Thong is said to be the first place where the influence of Buddhism reached the Thai Kingdom more than 2,500 years ago.
