BR Class 24 D5061 Railway Diesal Engine


This is a British Railways Class 24 diesel locomotive or Sulzer Type 2. this class was built between 1958 & 1961. One hundred and fifty-one were built at Derby, Crewe and Darlington, the first twenty of them as part of the British Railways 1955 Modernisation Plan. This class was used as the basis for the development of the class 25 locomotives. This Bo-Bo D5061 example was built at Crewe Locomotive Works in 1960.
