I shall say no more regarding the hygienic effect of gas heat-ing, because its principles are similar to heaters using other fuels, than to call attention to the real sterihzation of air effected byits passage through the flame. Many interesting tests to provethis fact have been made, especially in England, details of whichmay be found in the Gas Trade Journals, particularly the LondonJournal of Gas Lighting, during the past two years.
