But the Womans Christian Temperance Union is herfirst and chief love, and to its interests she has devoted herself with lavishgenerosity for twenty-four years. In her own state she has the profound respect of all its citizens. Thiswas especially manifested when a year ago an effort was made to pay forthe state W. C. T. U. headquarters.
