Camellia japonica 'Kumasaka' flowers. This early spring flowering shrub is a very old variety from 17th century originating in the Kantô district in Japan. The double candy pink flowers may be streaked with red and the shape can vary from semi double to peony shape or rose type. It is a large shrub reaching between and metres, shade tolerant and evergreen.
