The Fourth Dynasty scribe Dersenez lived around 2750 This statue of him was carved from red granite and uncovered at Giza. He is holding a scroll with the left hand and his right hand is carved to hold an implement to write on the scroll. The traces of paint that survived show that his hair was painted black, and his upper body, a reddish brown. On the papyrus is his name.
