Young men row a makeshift raft through a flooded area following the rising water levels of Lake Naivasha in Nakuru County. Rising levels of Lake Naivasha has displaced over 5,000 people in Kihoto Estate, approximately 90 km Northwest of Nairobi the capital city of Kenya. They homes were submerged due to the increased rainfall over the past two months, leading to rise in the water level of the lake. Kenya Meteorological Department has predicted that more rain will continue fall and the flooding situation may escalate.
