An Italian cervelliere, circa 1250 Heavy, one-piece skull. At the sides and the back of the head pierced holes around the perimeter for the fastening of an aventail. The obverse with an opening for the attachment of a nasal bar and chainmail face-guard. Small loss at the edge on the right side. Water finding, the exterior with remains of encrustations. Height 17 cm. Provenance: British private collection.
