Apollo Soyuz Test Project rendezvous. Soviet cosmonaut Valeri Kubasov (1935-2014) signing the Soviet side of the official joint certificate marking the rendezvous of the Soviet and US crews of the Apollo Soyuz Test Project (ASTP) after the successful docking of their two spacecraft. The ASTP mission was the first joint international manned space-flight. It took place from 15-24th July 1975. The Russian Soyuz 19 and American Apollo CSM-111 spacecraft docked in orbit on 17th July to test a jointly-designed international docking mechanism.
