Lauder, UK. 3rd August, 2013. Lauder Common Riding 2013 - the traditional annual inspection of the border markings of the town. Pictured: Cornet Cameron McNeill returns the Burgh Standard, "Unsullied and Untarnished" One of the original Border Common Ridings, there is a reference to a ceremony in Lauder's Town Council minutes of 1686. On Saturday the Cornet receives the Burgh Flag at the Tollbooth and leads the mounted cavalcade to the Watering Stane and onto the Burgess Cairn, the only boundary stone still in existence.
