Duisburg, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany - New construction of the A40 Rhine bridge Neuenkamp. The freeway bridge over the Rhine in Duisburg between the districts of Neuenkamp and Homberg or Rheinhausen connects the Ruhr area with the Lower Rhine. Since it is now used by about 100,000 motor vehicles a day, but was designed to carry only 30,000 vehicles when it was built in 1970, the bridge is being replaced by a new structure scheduled for completion in 2026.
