Strangler fig or vine, Khao Yai national park - part of the Unesco protected Dong Phayayen-Khao Yai Forest Complex, Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand

The Strangler fig is the common name for a number of tropical and subtropical plant species that suffocated other trees. Khao Yai is Thailand's oldest and third largest national park. It is mainly in Nakhon Ratchasima Province with small portions in Prachinburi, Saraburi and Nakhon Nayok provinces. It forms part of the Dong Phayayen-Khao Yai Forest Complex and Unesco World Heritage Site. The main checkpoint of the park is 180 km from Bangkok. It is a popular excursion from that city.
