Holywell, UK. 17th June, 2015. Nadine Scott and Margaret Perryman decorate a wooden frame with thousands of individual flower petals and seeds to form an intricate mosaic picture that is displayed by the ancient well at the Church of St John the Baptist in the riverside village of Holywell, Cambridgeshire UK. The painstaking task is carried out by a team of local volunteers and starts with the design being pricked out in the clay, followed by the placing of individual petals pressed into the clay with a cocktail stick. The painstaking task is carried out by a team of local volunteers and starts with the design being pricked out in the clay, followed by the placing of individual petals pressed into the clay with a cocktail stick. The finished decoration will be placed by the well this Friday after a church service and blessing. This year it celebrates the 100th anniversary of the restoration of the bells. The custom is rare in Cambridgeshire but started in 1980 when a man from Derbyshire became the vicar. A church has been on this site since 990AD and the spring or holy well has been the subject of pilgrimages and gave the village its name. Credit: Julian Eales/Alamy Live News
