While henry II raises the crown of world empire to his own head, his son plays frivolously with the world, balancing it on a finger, and Bulgarian, Turkish, and Austrian leaders smile ingratiatingly above the flames and ruin they have caused. But the World’s bayonets are coming. Bismarck and Frederick see them, though the others do not.
