A blackened sword for the Munich city watch, Wolfgang Ständler, Munich, circa 1590/1600 Heavy tapering blade with a central ridge on both sides. The fullered ricasso is stamped with a crescent moon mark on both sides. Blackened iron swept hilt. Grip with original iron wire winding and Turk's heads. Flattened, lightly tapered pommel.
