Krameri).All who see this Lily in flower admire it, and itis often thought to be the most delicatelytinted of all. The flowers vary from pure white. Lilium tigrinum Japonicum, continued in a few to a deep reddish pink. They are offairly good size, but of a most delicate struc-ture, quite in keeping with the color. It is alittle difficult to grow on account of the fallrains getting into the center of the bulb androtting it. It is said that the Japanese oftenplant this Lily on its side, so that its scalewill shed the rains, and to prevent the waterfrom entering the center of the bulb. Thereseems to be little difficulty in having them fivewhen fresh bulbs are set in spring. MAXIMOWICZII (L. Leichtlinii), var. RED-DISH YELLOW. This is a later-bloomingspecies than most of the red or yellow kinds,and stronger than the yellow variety. RUBELLUM. I consider this the earliest Lilyin my collection. The delicate pink flowersare showy and last well. While it is not sorobust and durable as L. speciosum, it is alonger-lived species than L. Krameri. SPECIOSUM, var. ALBUM. About the sameas the well-known L. speciosum rubrum, exceptthat the flowers
