London Southend Airport, Essex, UK. 17th Aug, 2024. The Royal Air Force Battle of Britain Memorial Flight have sent their Avro Lancaster PA474 wartime bomber to the civilian airport from which to operate for the four-day Eastbourne Airshow. The Lancaster has been grounded for an extended maintenance program over the winter and didn’t fly in 2024 until the end of July. The Lancaster is seen on finals to land over the approach lights
