Far more striking are those cases of protective resemblancein which the animal re-sembles in color and shape,sometimes in extraordi-nary detail, some partic-ular object or part of itsusual environment. Cer-tain parts of the AtlanticOcean are covered withgreat patches of seaweedcalled the Gulf weed (Sar-gassum), and many kindsof animals - - fishes andother creatures—live uponand among the algae.
