Believed to have originated from Fujian, China, the thick pancake is traditionally filled with crushed peanut or shredded coconut, while recent recipes have included ingredients such as banana, egg and chocolate toppings. The batter is usually prepared with a combination of flour, eggs, sugar, yeast, baking soda.
