This image shows a building in Germia Park, a public area outside Prishtina in Kosovo, that was destroyed during the 1999 war between Kosovo and Serbia. The area was mined during the conflict and has not yet been cleared. A prominent sign, in Albanian and Serbian warns of the presence of the mines and coils of razor wire prevent access. UNMIK, who took over administration of Kosovo after the conflict, have cleared many mines from the Park and it is generally safe to go there, provided you keep to the paths. However, this small area, with its shattered buildings, remains uncleared and dangerous and off-limits to the public.
