Living willow structure amongst a young tree plantation. Fourth year after winter pruning and tying in. Strong natural growth is changing the shape.

A willow structure made from rooted living willow rods planted into ground and tied together with cut willow rods. Created as a small deciduous native tree woodland was planted to the side of a garden. The location is not ideal as the willow will be shaded out and become weak. In the background is a field hedge. Photographed in February after winter pruning and reshaping to refine its shape. Originally a small neat dome the vigorous willow forcing a change in shape to a more sinuous structure.
