Editor The Carpenter: I thought, perhaps, I would see somethingwritten-up for the June issue of our grandjournal by some one of our more giftedwriters of our district, about the great ju-bilee we had here on the evening of June3d last. Since, however, no one has seeminglyfelt inclined or indulged to send in a reporton the event, I will endeavor to do so as faras my capacity will allow me. Beginningwith the fall of 1908 and going back severalyears we had five locals in our city. And atthat time, especially, a great deal of dis-sension existed among our ranks, and in or-der to get ourselves more closely united thequestion of consolidation was considered tobe the only resort. So at a called meeting ofthree of these Local Unions—219, 394 and1646—each of them voted almost unani-mously to consolidate. The three namedLocal Unions being composed of men whodid practically no mill or shop work, andthere being a Local Uni
