He was oneof the prefen-ed younger sonsof his mother, for an account of which see tlie notice of Ashwater. Hiselder brother. Sir Tlionias Cai-ew, married Joan Carminow. The figure is lemarkable as illustrating the extravagant martial panoplysometimes affected l)y knights of that era (Division IV). A large saladewith the vizor raised, comjjlete armour, moton, enormovis wing-shapedelbow pieces, misericorde, and long sword buckled in front, comprise Tomb in Chancel of Luppit Church—circa 1325.
