A model 1885 sword for officers,of the Bavarian cuirassiers Massive,single-edged blade with fullers on both sides,marked "Amberg" on the ricasso. A rare variant brass knucklebow hilt with three so-called "cat's paws" on the obverse and two on the reverse,joined on the upper surface by an accompanying side guard. Leather hilt with wire winding,the iron scabbard with two movable rings on carrying bands. The guard and scabbard are stamped with matching "299". Length 112 cm.
