There is one other possible source of return cargowhich must be noticed, since it lies very near to the directroute. We marked a branch from the main line cl trafficdiverging to the west coast of tropical Africa; the questionarises, whether this region, with its very different pro-ducts, could supplement the South African cargoes forEurope.
