The over-all height is 12 ft. 3 in. Allthe control, resistors, lightning arresters, and feed andcheck valves are mounted on a frame in the center ofthe cab built of 3-in. x 3-in. x i-in. angle iron. Thesloping hoods at either end of the cab are built fromNo. 14-gage sheet iron supported on 1-in. x 1-in. xI-in. angles and are 5 ft. long. The air compressor. 4 5-TON LOCOMOTIVE DESIGNED AND BUILT IN INDIANARAILWAYS SHOP is located under one hood and a tool box under the sand box is also built in the end of each hood, thusgiving a straight drop from the trap to the rail. The trucks are Peckham interurban with bolstersspaced 16 ft. centers and a 6-ft. 10-in. wheelbase. Axlesare 5 in. in diameter with 34-in. steel-tired Westinghouse 93-A motors are used with a gearratio of 16 to 71 and a free running speed of 35 very slow running, or in case of trouble with anymotor, all motors can be operated in series. The controlis Westinghouse HL double end with Westinghousedouble-end air brakes and Westinghouse compressor. Other equipment includes Gould couplers, Ohio Brass Company sanders. GeneralElectric headlights, Baldwin Locomotive Company Service Supply Company gongs, Nuttall No. 13trolley base, Dayton drop-handle hand brake and Hart-man center bearings.
