The bill of fare is aboutthe same for every meal, soup, beef and vegetables, dulce orsweets, which usually consists of some fruit such as green figsor guayaba skins, etc., boiled in syrup and served with coffee orchocolate and cheese. There was neither fresh butter nor every possible dish garlic is used and the majority of the dishesare colored yellow with arnatto. The vegetables are rice, potatoes. THE MAGDALENA RIVER T yucca, plantains (boiled andfried), and names, or yamsas we would call them, thoughthey are entirely different fromthe sweet potato to which we givethat name.
