X-ray astronomy. Artist's impression of the Satellite Astromonia Raggi-X (SAX) satellite. SAX is an Italian/Dutch bilateral project to build a satellite to make observations in X-ray wavelengths. Its primary science missions will be to observe X-ray binaries, pulsars, supernova remnants and active galactic nuclei. The satellite is due for launch on an Atlas 1 rocket in mid- 1994.
