One ounce will produce 3,000 plants; of seed in beds enough to transplant for an acre. Selected Early Jersey Wakefield. The Early Wakefield is the standard earlv cabbage in all the northern markets, a larger acreage of it being planted than of all the other early sorts combined. It is the hardiest and hardest heading of the extra early sorts, and most north- ern gardeners depend upon it for the bulk of their first crop. Pkt. 5c, oz. 20c, #lb. 60c, lb. $ Charleston or Large Wakefield. A very popular vari- ety with market gardeners in the south. It is •about a week later than Early Jersey Wakefield, but the heads are nearly one-half larger; does not 'burst when ripe, like most early sorts, and can be left standing in the field some time without dam- age.
