east glamorgan general hospital, church village, llantwit fardre, prior to demolition number 1678

Photo 1677. East Glamorgan Hospital, in Church Village, Llantwit Fardre, Glamorgan, has now been demolished to make way for a new housing estate. Many will have been a patient here but this photo celebrates the visitor of the sick and the people who waited for their nurse to come off shift, in order to take them home. Many of us have spent a very relaxing time walking around these goldfish ponds at the front entrance - lost in the weed and fish. This particular shot, taken in 2000, just before closure.
