Competitors in the Mens Club: Connect 1 mile race, round the hairpin at the end of the Mall during the Sainsbury's Anniversary Games, Session Two - The Mall.

The Sainsbury’s Anniversary Games was held in a temporary stadium at Horse Guards Parade. It hosted track and field events including sprints, hurdles and high jump. The unique event will attract the best Olympic and Paralympic athletes in the world including: Team GB’s Jonnie Peacock, Pole vault world record holder Renaud Lavillenie, Olympic hurdles champion and world record holder Aries Merritt and 2008 Olympic Champion Blanka Vlasic. Races were also held in the Mall, where people watched for free, with the likes of six-time Paralympic champion David Weir in action. Club:Connect is a British Athletics initiative with the objective of recognising and rewarding the significant contribution made by clubs in supporting athletes throughout all levels of their athletics journey. Clubs are the foundation of the athletics pyramid, British Athletics recognises this and will be using our global award winning Major Events to showcase clubs and age group athletes in different formats. Launched in January to coincide with the 2014 televised indoor season, a number of local Scottish clubs took part in medley relays at the Sainsbury’s Glasgow International Match in front of 5,000 spectators at the Emirates Arena. The athletes from all age groups experienced the same procedures from warm up to call room and mixed with world class international athletes in front of a very supportive home crowd. Both winning clubs, Edinburgh in the women's event and Inverclyde in the men's event, were presented with their grants infield in front
