Europe, Spain, Extremadura, Cáceres, Monumento a los Cofrades (Penitent or 'Nazareno' wearing a 'Capirote' Pointed Hood) being lead by a Monk

Despite the unnerving imagery, the pointed hat and costume of the man portrayed in this sculpture has no connection to the Ku Klux Klan (KKK). The man is a 'Nazareno' or 'penitent', and after confessing his sins he wears this costume as he is paraded through the town, led by a monk ringing a bell. This is part of his penance.
