The following summer he devoted to his military duties, constantlysuperintending movements of the militia, and conducting military cor-respondence, and again, in February, 1778, attended the session of Con-gress, then convened at Yorktown. He remained in attendance at this Congress until July, 1779, when,Connecticut being threatened with an invasion of the British troops, hetook the field at the head of a division of militia, to defend her 17Hl-s:>, he was again a representative in Congress; 17^4—85, he was.
