Crown, sword and regalia from a wood engraving by Mary Byfield. This is from an engraving dating from 1832. At the time, William IV was king, some five years before Queen Victoria ascended to the throne. This and others which I have in the series were used to illustrate the architectural likenesses between Athens and Edinburgh (Scotland) and its environs at the time. Note: Some of the originals had foxing which may show as slightly darker patches in the photos.
