The fishing boat hangs from the roof of Vagur Kirk Vagur Suduroy Føroyar (Faeroe Islands)


The fishing boat suspended from the ceiling of churches is symbolic and typical of lutheran churches in the Faeroe's and other northern fishing communities. Vágur meaning Bay is a town on the Faroe Island of Suðuroy, it is situated on the east coast of the island on the Vágsfjørður fjord, and dates from the fourteenth century. Vágur Church was built in 1927
