Nikaia, Larisa, Greece. 7th February 2014. Farmers seek to block the highway between Thessaloniki and Athens in Nikaia, some 380 kms north of Athens. Protesting Greek farmers, who are demanding tax breaks and other benefits, have refused an offer from the Greek government after a February 6 meeting and they said they would not relent and keep their tractors positioned at key points on major roads across Greece, which they have continually threatened to blockade unless they get everything they want.
