DALLWIG'S SEED CATALOGUE. 7 ^Celery^ Crawford's Half Dwarf.—Also known around New York as Henderson's Half Dwarf. When blanched, it is a yellowish white, making it ornamental for the table. Per ounce 15c Golden Self-Blancllillg.—It is certainly a most important acquisi- tion, and cannot be too highly recommended. The beautiful appearance of the- plant, with its close habits, compact growth and straight, vigorous stalks, is faithfully shown in the illustration. The ribs are perfectly solid, crisp, brittle, and of delicious flavor, surpassed by no other variety, while it has the decided merit of self-blanching to a very remarkable degree. Without any banking or covering whatever, even the outer ribs become of a handsome, fresh, yellowish white color. The heart is large solid and of a beautiful rich golden yellow color. Per ounce 20c White Plume.—The peculiarity of this leading variety is that the inner leaves and heart are naturally white, so that by closing the stalks, either by tying or by drawing the soil close about the plant and "firming" it, the blanching is completed. Per ounce 15c Giant Pascal.—The best for winter use; This is, without doubt, the most remarkable novelty in Celery obtained since the introduction of the Golden Self-Blanching, from which it is a sprout, carefully established by skillful selection. It partakes of the rich, nutty flavor peculiar to the Golden Self-Blanehing, and is absolutely free from any bitter taste. It is the best keeper of all Celeries, and is, without doubt, the Celery for January and February use. It is most excellent for shipping, as it does not rust or rot. Per ounce 20c Boston Market.—The great favorite in Boston markets. It is a vigorous grower, of medium height; very early and_ an excellent keeper. It is very solid, white, of mild delicious flavor, and entirely free from hollow stems.
