This locomotive is, in many respects, a new departurefrom ordinary locomotive practice. It was built for heavymountain passenger service on the Lehigh Valley Kail-road, at the Wilkesbarre shops of tliat company, underthe supervision of Mr. Alexander Mitchell, Division Super-intendent of that line, from the design of Mr. George The engine, as will be seen from the engravingpublished last month, has coupled driving-wheels. 62in. diameter, a four-wheel leading truck and a single-axleor pony trailing truck under the fire-boxes.
