The Niviera de Baix is located at 635m altitude, excavated in the rock, is has a circular shape of diameter and a hemispheric turn of masonry built with a calcium mortar. During the Autumn the surroundings of this construction were cleaned, and the first snow of the season gathered and packed with satchels and filled through the window of the building. inside, the workers treaded it with their feet and with picks, distributed it in layers, alternating with straw. Once full, the openings were closed in order to keep it cold,.The ice was transported by night and commercialised in the local market, and above all, supplied to the harbours such as Denia.
