The Coventry Mystery Plays, or Coventry Corpus Christi Pageants, are a cycle of medieval mystery plays performed in Coventry, West Midlands, England. They were first recorded in 1392–3, and continued for nearly two centuries. The young Shakespeare may have witnessed them before they were finally suppressed in 1579. In its fullest form they comprised about ten plays on New Testament themes.

The Coventry Plays were first recorded in a document of 1392–3, and continued for nearly two centuries; the young Shakespeare may have witnessed them before they were finally suppressed in 1579. In its fullest form the cycle comprised about ten plays, all on New Testament themes, though only two have survived portraying events from the Annunciation to the Massacre of the Innocents, and the Weavers' Pageant dealt with the Purification and the Doctors in the Temple.
