Senso is a 1954 historical film directed by Luchino Visconti, starring Alida Valli and Farley Granger. It is inspired by the novel of the same name by Camillo Boito, published in 1883. Among the assistant directors are Francesco Rosi, Giancarlo Zagni and Franco Zeffirelli, all at the time almost at the beginning of their careers. It is the director's first color film.
