In the foregoing table it is seen that only 10 j)er cent of the house-holds the heads of wJiich were native-bom white persons of nativefather and per cent of the households the heads of which wereof native birth but of foreign father have boarders or lodgers, ascontrasted with per cent of the households the heads ot whichwere of foreign birth. Moreover, the showing for the total numberof households the heads of wliich were foreign-bom is renderedmore favorable than it would be if limited to the nouseholds of recentimmigration by the small percentage of boarders or lodgers in thehouseholds of older immigrants.
