An unofficial and humorous sign has been placed on the boundary between the Tier 2 alert level ‘High’ region controlled by Essex County Council and the Tier 1 ‘medium’ of the unitary authority of Southend on Sea Borough Council (which includes Leigh on Sea). The Southend borough is within Essex geographically but is controlled by a separate body. The stricter Coronavirus rules came into place on Saturday 17th Oct.
