Tho .annors have been having their own troubles this season and some of them are of a kind with which seeds- men can svmpathize. For instance, last vear the Maryland and Delaware pack- ers paid the farmers 15 cents per basket for tomatoes, but this year agreed to pav them 25 cents. The scarcity ot to- matoes and the increasing demand tor canned goods led to prices being in- flated, until in some canneries as high as 75 cents a basket has been paid this vear.
