They have inaugurated a systemthat gives two daily and three Saturdaydeliveries. They are at the followinghours: Morning delivery—All goods orderednot later than 10 Afternoon delivery—All goods orderednot later than Saturday evening delivery—-Of allgoods ordered not later than 9 W. RETAILERS FAVOR EARLYCLOSING By a unanimous vote the grocers,butchers and fruiterers of the TorontoRetail Merchants Association accepteda motion expressing the desirability ofclosing- their stores at 7 oclock eachevening all the year round except Satur-days and on the evenings before statu-tory holidays. Officers of the associationurged the necessity of securing the sig-natures of 75 per cent, of the city store-keepers to a petition. Without such apetition the city could not proceed withthe necessary by-law covering the point. ALBERTA AND SASKATCHEWAN APPOINT COMMITTEES TO WORK WITH CENTRAL FOOD COMMITTEE, OTTAWA These committees are appointed byeach province, and consist of three mem-bers whose duty it is to see that therecommendations and regulations of theFood Controller are carried into effect.
