A silver-mounted French flintlock pistol,Le Page,Paris,circa 1770. Blued two-stage smooth bore barrel in mm calibre,octagonal then round after a gilt cannelure and girdle,with a gold-plated vent hole. At the breech and the front sight gold-inlaid arabesque decoration and a(slightly rubbed)signature "Le Page A Paris". Slightly cut flintlock,underneath the frizzen a repeated,engraved signature. Florally carved walnut stock with silver furniture decorated with rocailles in relief,on the pommel cap an antique bust . Whalebone ramrod with bone tip.
