Hyper IgE syndrome. Mouth of a 7-year-old male patient with Hyperimmunoglobulin E syndrome. This immune disorder is characterised by recurrent staphylococcal infections, eczema-like skin rashes and severe lung infections. It is caused by very high concentrations of the antibody immunoglobulin E (IgE) and can also cause facial, dental, and skeletal abnormalities. Here, it has caused a high arched palate.
