1914 photograph of the Forth rail Bridge with a steam train crossing towards the South Queensferry ferry terminal . It is named after Saint Margaret of Scotland who is believed to have established a ferry at this point for pilgrims. She died in 1093 and her body was carried on they ferry to Dunfermline Abbey. The cantilever bridge was built across the Firth of Forth and was completed in 1890, at that time being the longest single cantilever bridge span in the world
