One of the few remaining traditional salt makers in Bali, at Kusamba Beach. Bali, Indonesia.


Workers start before sunrise to water the sand with sea water to increase the amount of salt. Once dry, the sand is harvested and more salt water poured through. The resulting salt laden water is spread on trays in the sun for the water to evaporate.
